Dr. Jessica Scherer earned her undergraduate degree from UVM after graduating from Rutland High School. She then went on to pursue a degree in optometry from the SUNY College of Optometry in New York City followed by a residency in ocular disease outside of Baltimore, MD. Most recently, she worked at an ophthalmology practice in Washington state specializing in the management of glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling, running and good food. Dr. Scherer and Dr. Whitney welcomed their first child in the fall of 2021.
Dr. Jeremy Whitney grew up in the Pacific Northwest and received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Linfield College. He graduated with honors from the State University of New York College of Optometry. After completing optometry school, Dr. Whitney completed a residency in ocular disease outside of Baltimore, MD. He is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has served as an adjunct clinical instructor for Pacific University. Prior to moving to Vermont, Dr. Whitney worked at a private practice focusing on dry eye care, specialty contact lenses, and myopia control.
Dr. Whitney enjoys the outdoors and is an avid sports fan. When not at the office, he loves spending time with his family and two dogs, Teddy and Luna.
Dr. John Martell was born and raised in Burlington, Vermont. After practicing in Vermont for the last 20 years, Dr. Martell officially retired in 2022. We would like to thank Dr. Martell for all the great care he has given his patients over the years!
