Dr. Jessica Scherer earned her undergraduate degree from UVM after graduating from Rutland High School. She then went on to pursue a degree in optometry from the SUNY College of Optometry in New York City followed by a residency in ocular disease outside of Baltimore, MD. Most recently, she worked at an ophthalmology practice in Washington state specializing in the management of glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling, running, food, and fantasy football. She and Dr. Whitney currently have two adorable dogs and are looking forward to the new adventures of parenthood when they welcome their first child this fall.
Dr. Jeremy Whitney grew up in the Pacific Northwest and received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Linfield College. He graduated with honors from the State University of New York College of Optometry. After completing optometry school, Dr. Whitney completed a residency in ocular disease outside of Baltimore, MD. He is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has served as an adjunct clinical instructor for Pacific University. Prior to moving to Vermont, Dr. Whitney worked at a private practice focusing on dry eye care, specialty contact lenses, and myopia control.
Dr. Whitney enjoys the outdoors and is looking forward to everything Vermont has to offer. He is an avid sports fan and dreams of the day the Seattle Supersonics return. Don’t worry—he’s not a Seahawks fan; his only goal is to someday beat his wife, Dr. Scherer, in fantasy football. When not at the office, he loves spending time with their two dogs, Teddy and Luna. However, their dogs will soon have competition as Dr. Whitney and Dr. Scherer welcome their first child this fall.
Dr. John Martell was born and raised in Burlington, Vermont.
